Dr. Nadia Lafontaine, graduated veterinarian in 2001 from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of St-Hyacinthe, has been practicing classical medicine for over 20 years with cats and dogs but has always had a special interest in horses as well. In 2022, in order to offer other treatment alternatives to her patients, she became interested in osteopathy and enrolled in the training offered by the Institute of Alternative Medicine and Veterinary Osteopathy (IMAOV), which spans nearly 2 years. Now graduated and the only veterinary osteopath in Outaouais, Dr. Lafontaine offers her services by appointment at the Clinique Vétérinaire Val-des-Monts for cats and dogs and also travels to the farm for horses depending on her availability. For more information or to make an appointment, contact the Clinique Vétérinaire Val-des-Monts at (819) 671-8383 or via email at info@cvvdm.ca
Veterinary osteopathy is a complementary care approach aimed at detecting and treating movement restrictions and dysfunctions in animals at different levels (organs, bones, fascia, muscular, ligamentous, and tendinous tissues). It relies on gentle and non-invasive manual manipulations to improve mobility and promote the overall well-being of the animal. It works synergistically with conventional medicine and in no way replaces it.
